We in invite you to participate in the ACM Symposium on Virtual Reality Software and Technology (VRST) 2007 in Newport Beach, CA, USA.

ACM Symposium on Virtual Reality Software and Technology (VRST) is an international forum for the exchange of experience and knowledge among researchers and developers concerned with virtual reality software and technol-ogy.  VRST 2007 will provide an opportunity for VR researchers to interact, share new results, show live demonstra-tions of their work, and discuss emerging directions for the field.

Papers due:                                 May 20, 2007
Short papers due:                        June 15, 2007
Notification of acceptance:                July 31, 2007
Conference dates:                        November 5-7, 2007

Note that the paper submission deadline has been extended to May 20, 2007.

*** Call for Papers ***

ACM VRST 2007 seeks original, unpublished papers documenting new research contributions, practice and experience, or novel applications, from all areas of virtual environments.

Authors are required to submit fully formatted papers, with graphs, images, and other special areas arranged as intended for final publication. The ACM SIGGRAPH paper preparation guidelines are described at http://www.siggraph.org/publications/instructions. The maximum length for a regular paper submission is 8 pages. The maximum length for a short paper submission is 4 pages. Reviewers will be instructed to weigh the contribution of a paper relative to its length.

Submissions may be optionally accompanied by additional materials such as images, videos, or electronic documents. These materials do not form a part of the official submission and will be viewed only at the discretion of the reviewers.

The following three distinguished speakers will be featured at VRST
2007:

Holly Rushmeier, Professor of Computer Science, Yale University J. Edward Colgate, Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Northwestern University Larry Smarr, Director of CalIT(2) and Professor of Computer Science, UCSD

*** Conference Location

VRST’07 will be held in the Fairmont Newport Beach Hotel, Orange County, California.  Orange County is one of the most popular areas for organizing scientific meetings and international symposia. Its proximity to the sandy beaches, majestic coastlines, and recrea-tional facilities coupled with the pleasant climate make it a very popular touristic destination.

The program includes a welcome reception on Monday, Nov 5th and a conference banquet followed by an open-house evening to the Graphics and Visualization Laboratories of the Bren School of Information and Computer Sci-ences at University of California, Irvine on the evening of Tuesday, Nov 6th, 2007.
