Geometric Modeling and Processing 2004

April 13-15, 2004

Tsinghua University, Beijing, China

GENERAL INFORMATION
Geometric Modeling and Processing 2004 (GMP 2004) will be held
in Beijing, China on April 13-15, 2004. GMP 2004 is the third
in a biennial international conference series on solid modeling,
shape representation and geometric computation. Modeling and
processing of geometric shape is fundamental to many disciplines,
such as computer graphics, computer vision, CAD/CAM, medical
imaging and scientific computation. GMP 2004 will provide a forum
for researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas, to discuss
problems, and to present new solutions in geometric modeling and
processing. The past conferences were held in Hong Kong (2000) and
Tokyo (2002).  The next GMP conference, GMP2006, will be held in
Carnegie Mellon University, USA.

CONFERENCE TOPICS

GMP2004 solicits high quality papers for presentation describing
original research results in Geometric Modeling and Processing,
The conference topics include, but are not limited to

. Curves and Surfaces
. Solid Modeling
. Shape Representation Schemes
. Geometric Constraints Solving
. Mathematical Foundations of CAGD
. Multresolution Modeling
. Digital Geometry Processing
. Representation of Geometric Uncertainty
. Partial Differential Equation in Geometric Computing

We also welcome studies of specific problems arising in applications
of geometric computing, such as

. Reverse Engineering
. Robotics
. Image Processing
. Computer Vision
. Rapid Prototyping
. Mesh Generation
. Medical Imaging
. Scientific Visualization

INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS

Full papers in English containing original and unpublished results are
solicited. The Proceedings will be published by IEEE CS Press. The length
of a paper should not exceed 10 pages in proceedings format. Acceptable
file formats for paper submission are PDF and Postscript.

To submit a paper, the paper must be transmitted to the conference secretariat
via the Internet by September 30, 2003. Please check the conference web page
http://www.geometrie.tuwien.ac.at/gmp2004
or
http://cg.cs.tsinghua.edu.cn/gmp2004/
for more information about paper submission.

IMPORTANT DATES

Full Paper Submission:  September 30, 2003
Notification of Acceptance:  November 25, 2003
Three Days of Conference:  April 13-15, 2004

REPUBLICATION IN JOURNALS

All the papers will be reviewed by international program committee. Some

papers of outstanding quality that have been presented at GMP2004 will
be selected for publication in an extended and revised form in journals
of "Computer Aided Geometric Design" and "Computer-Aided Design".
